It contains every single thing one needs before doing a media interview from 'what to say' to 'what to wear' this book has it all.I particularly like the sound bite quote system. This is an extremely important part of any interview. What makes it memorable? What are you trying to say? What is the takeaway from an interview?Another important section is the discussion about Energy and bringing passion to an interview. Nobody wants to listen to a boring person talk about anything and if YOU are that boring person on radio or TV the consumer will simply change the station. Jess knows what he's talking about AND he practices what he preaches. However, that is NOT what makes him the perfect teacher for a media course. He actually cares deeply about the people he teaches and wants them to succeed more than any other teacher I've ever been involved with. His charisma is also second to none. if you listen to him for more than a minute, you are captivated and can't wait to hear what he is going to say next. That is the magic of "sound bites" and he has this down pat. His media teaching is beyond compare and he has walked his talk too having a Guiness Record for most interviews in 24 hours. Only someone with the energy and knowledge he has could pull that off. I have been a student of his for almost 2 years and am so happy he finally has this book out. You can't go wrong with Jess.

Jess Todtfeld has left no stone unturned, yet the magic of the book is that it is not at all overwhelming. It is a pretty quick read that covers an enormous amount of information--particularly in today's media, digital and social media Age. The book addresses both strategic and tactical issues surrounding being interviewed in various media formats extremely well. But, as if that's not enough, Todtfeld ends the book with helpful information about how to showcase all of your interviews (i.e., television, radio, podcast, Internet, etc.) in the most professional way possible. He cuts to the chase to solve some very common problems that so many people have; for instance, I didn't exactly know what to do in order to put my radio and podcast interviews on YouTube but now I know! He makes things simple to understand which is so important because it is too easy to just say: "I don't really know what my 20-year old nephew just told me to do so I am just going to wait and do it later". "Later" has a funny way of never showing up, meanwhile a TV or radio producer has looked at Mary Reilly's YouTube Channel and said "She's too inexperienced" because I didn't have all of my content up there.
