Kindred Spirits on the Roof is an incredibly adorable read. The first part is somewhat of an average (albeit still super cute) yuri story, but side B is where it's at for me. The quiz club storyline is actually interesting, and the art is quite different and refreshing. I personally loved all of the swooning that Chiharu and Tokino did every time Rika and Natsuki did anything cute.I never played the game it's based on, so I don't know how it stands in that context, but I can confidently say that it's a great read on its own :)
Having played through the visual novel and loving everything about the story, I was naturally attracted to this. I love seeing how the couples from the game were integrated into both story and I adore these stories so much! Along with the manga's amazing artwork, the heartwarming stories put and kept a smile on me all the way until the end. I would recommend this to someone who enjoys the genre or is looking for a cute story and I HIGHLY recommend reading this if you have played through the visual novel like I have.I would also recommend the visual novel that this manga is based on. Not only do the couples in the visual novel appear in both stories, but it will definitely add to the entire Kindred Spirits on the Roof experience (which, in my opinion, has been and still is an incredible joyride of fluff, cuteness, and amazingness).Note:* If you have played the visual novel but not read this yet, this is a must read.* If you have not played the visual novel but have read this, I would HIGHLY recommend playing the visual novel as well.* If you have not played the visual novel and not read this yet, I would recommend playing the visual novel first (and listening to the drama CDs), then reading this.
Pretty bland. Two stories, based on a VN. The art in the first story is okay, the art in the second gets a little worse. One of the two girls in the first story doesn't even get any time, so it's hard to know why one is falling for her given we know nothing about her. The four characters in the second story don't get any time to actually have real personalities, so that makes it hard to emotionally invest. Maybe for fans of the VN they would know more background on the characters. But as a stand-alone manga, it was fine, cute, but pretty bland.
I'm a big fan of yuri, but have only just recently started buying manga. This is only the 2nd of ones i have physical copies fore. First off, its a really cute story and what many would likely consider pure Yuir and others would consider Shoujo Ai, because of the real friendship values that are pushed fourth (and how relationships for them are basically more about words than actions)Just be aware (in case you weren't) that this isn't one story, its two. Half way through the main characters switch. Overall really cute, and i enjoyed it. It made me smile.
An adorable read; very light and fluffy, perfect to brighten your day. The artwork is top notch, and the story moves at a good pace. I really enjoyed this, and I'm glad my friend recommended this to me!
This was based off a visual novel series I haven't played yet, so I can't vouch for how accurate it is. It's a very light hearted story. The art is absolutely my favorite, very refreshing and adorable! If you're in the need of a cozy yuri, this would be it.
