I’ve had hard copies before, but wanted the convenience of digital. The only thing I dislike is I had a hard time getting to drug classification. In the hard copy, you can easily see the different classifications and go straight to them (like cardiac - calcium channel blockers and beta blockers). But the digital still contained all the same information that I needed.

Almost everything I wanted in a drug reference book, though missing pictures of the pills. So, I might not have remembered the correct brand of nursing drug reference book. It has good information and easily laid out.

All of my classmates that bought other drug books got an online digital version of their book included with the hard copy they bought. I bought this book because our nursing program recommended it. I also like Elsevier products. I assumed that since it was an Elsevier product, it would have an online version through the Elsevier site. It doesn't. There are some feature online, but that's it. I was pretty disappointed. I should have made sure before purchasing.

I was actually disappointed in this edition. There were many drugs not in this edition. The book was difficult to navigate.

Perfect book for nursing school! Very in depth and informative but not difficult to understand

Helpful for all medical professionals

Handy for work...got it to replace my old one

About the Author

Hans Augusto Rey was born in Hamburg, Germany in 1898. As a child, he spent much of his free time in that city's famous Hagenbeck Zoo drawing animals. After serving in the army during World War I, he studied philology and natural science at the University of Hamburg. He then married Margret Rey and they moved to Montmartre for four years. The manuscript for the first Curious George books was one of the few items the Reys carried with them on their bicycles when they escaped from Paris in 1940. Eventually, they made their way to the United States, and Curious George was published in 1941. Curious George has been published in many languages, including French, German, Japanese, Afrikaans, and Norwegian. I'm very happy with the book as it helps count and recognize numbers however the last page in my book is missing the number 68. Makes it hard for a child to learn the numbers when there is one missing in the sequence.

This book was not what I thought but well wroth it.When my little one was learning to count to 100, I thought this book would be ideal. She is a huge fan of Curious George to teaching her to count with her buddy was what I wanted. When we got the book she was so excited I started to read. She counted the 1 bed and the pillows. The further along we got, the more confused she was. For example the 16 rubber ducks were easy to count but the 23 napkins were hard to see. Then again it got easy with the 26 pancakes.Instead of confusing my little one, I took a whole new approach with this book. I started to read this book to her like a typical picture book, As we get to each number, I have her read the numbers and I read the text. I use this as a form of number recognition.If you are looking for a way to help your little one learn to count independently I would not recommend this book. On the same note, this is a fun book that will help your little one recognize numbers.

I finally found a book that counts out each diget from 1 to 100. Not only is each diget counted out, but each diget has a corresponding group of items that equal that diget...like 12 neckties. I love how it goes through George's day. And there is a story line, too. It's the city's centennial anniversary. George is headed to the centennial fair. He decides that it is a good day to learn to count to 100. First he counts in the house, then outside, then in school while he is visiting Betsy. Lastly, he counts items at the centennial fair.It's easy to go through and just read it or to stop and count all the shoes or all the ducks. I notice that my children (2 and 4) seem to find a new item they are interested in every time we read it. They don't need to stop and count everything, but I find it excellent counting practice because inevitably there a few things each time they want to count plus, every time we read it, they are counting to 100 already anyway! Highly recommended!

Love this book! Its super cute and educational. There is so much that you can do with this book. When the kids get tired of counting, we use it as a look and find book. One page has a map of the United States. I use that map to teach the kids about the states. Its a really nice book for fans of Curious George and for teaching. I hope this helps!

Excellent book! If you don't mind snuggling in for a 20 minute read you are good to go. They count objects for every single number from 1 to 100. If you have a child who needs to count everything on the page every time you read you MAY want to hide this book. 😁 It's likely too much for the under 4 crowd ... my 6 and 4 year old will sit through it.

My daughter likes this book a lot. It is long, but it identifies all of the numbers. I don't start counting over each time we get to a new number, I simply read off the number and continue reading. So much better than other counting books I've bought that don't identify all the number to 100.

My 3 year old LOVES the curious george books. He is really able to follow the stories and loves playing pretend acting out the books after he reads them.Just know that this book is very long especially if you are going to be counting for each number.

Best counting book ever! For whatever reason, this is the only counting book that holds the attention of my four-year-old. She actually asks to read it and we are working on learning numbers up to 100. Highly recommend!

This was a required text for a class, a class which is now rethinking using the text. No page numbers. What kind of a book has no page numbers? Typos. Not a very good book overall. I bought it for the class, returned it when I found out we were just going to read a handful of chapters, then bought the Amazon version for $5.18 on promo. Spent too much.

What a great combination of business acumen and interesting backstories. Entertaining and informative. You’ll want to meet the author and have a beer.

This gem exceeded my expectations. Much wit and insight of one who seems to have accepted the hand dealt him. One who seems at peace in his world.

I shared a similar southeast LA county suburban childhood as the author. It was almost as boring as Waldie's experiences. His knowledge of Lakewood"s development was obviously informed by his work for the city. These outlying tracts as they progressed were and are a unique experiment in post WWII lifestyle. As flat and wide as Waldie describes, and mostly at right angles.Made you want to run away to a horse ranch, a farm or NYC just so there would be something interesting or new going on. I am amazed that Waldie still lives in his parents' Lakewood D-5 and hasn't upgraded to Cerritos or the beach, or Downey, at least. Apparently, his monkish lifestyle suits him, and he really believes he lives on holy ground.

I too, grew up in Lakewood California. Waldie makes it all come alive again, sans emotion or perspective. The good, the bad and the quiet insanity of 1950's suburban life in a planned community. Like a heartbeat, his words are a silent rhythm of hope, not of despair. He tells it like it was. No more, no less. A very interesting read.

I am surprised how much I have enjoyed reading this required book for a class in L.A. Literature. So much of what we have read has come from a "noir" perspective, painting all aspects of the "American Dream" as a corrupt lie. I was pleased to find a more wholistic perspective that includes the positive and the negative. I am drawn to the vignette form. There is power in the incisive brevity of each section.

I loved this book! It's written about my hometown of Lakewood CA where I was born and raised and still live some 62 years later! Mr. Waldie wrote about many things I remember well but also taught me many things I didn't know. Thanks!!

A beautifully layered love story to what most Americans would call a soulless suburb; Waldie sings its history, its community, its geography, and his family's roots in this LA housing tract. His prose is clearly chiselled, its refusal to indulge in soaring description and its embrace of sudden juxtapositions reminding me sometimes of Kurt Vonnegut, sometimes of John McPhee.

This seems like an easy read on the beginnings of the City of Lakewood, but it turns into a work of written art. Short, enjoyable, moving.

Very interesting perspective on Lakewood California, one of the first communities of its kind. Rather a strange, episodic writing style but lots of good information and personal insight.

This book is a gem to be sure. However, you need to appreciate what it is, and--just as importantly--what it isn't.I feel that, by re-titling the book "Introduction to Graph Theory", Dover has done this particular book a bit of a disservice. It is not in anyway comprehensive overview of Graph Theory, and it doesn't pretend to be. The content covered in this entire book is incredibly cursory, as has been mentioned before in many reviews, and constitutes perhaps 3 or 4 chapters worth of content in a more traditional book on Graph Theory. Of course, what content it does cover is treated very well, and I would highly recommend anyone interested in graph theory to pay the few bucks this book costs, and read it over as a precursor to a more rigorous and well-developed work on the subject. But, bear in mind that I do not see this as the primary purpose of the book.So, if this book isn't an overview of graph theory, then what is it? I feel as though this book uses graph theory as a vehicle to teach something far more general: the joy of mathematics. The book is littered with references to what mathematics is, and how mathematics works. It encourages people to view math not as a series of formulas and processes to be memorized, but as a game. A game that has very few rules, and a massive amount of freedom of experimentation.To that end, I think that the selection of graph theory as a narrative vehicle was a stroke of genius on the part of Trudeau. As an educator, the biggest problem that I've found with trying to teach mathematics is that students simply convince themselves that they are no good with numbers--and as a result they completely stunt their own mathematical growth. By focusing on graph theory, Trudeau teaches the important elements of mathematics: logic, creative thinking, proof, etc. without the stigma that comes with using numbers.Obviously there are numbers involved, but in general the topic of graph theory is different enough from that of standard arithmetic and algebra that it gives students a chance to actually engage with and learn mathematics, without constantly shooting themselves in the foot due to their fear of "normal" math. The lessons learned here can then serve as a basis to improve their mathematical skills in those "normal" branches of mathematics. Or, at the very least, the lessons might help them see mathematics in a new light.

This is an AMAZING book, the authors style is so clear, fun and entertaining, without much mathematical rigor. This is an excelent introduction to graph theory if I may say. Im an electrical engineer and been wanting to learn about the graph theory approach to electrical network analysis, surprisingly there is very little information out there, and very few books devoted to the subject. I started reading what is considered the reference in graph theory applied to electrical networks, namely "Linear Graphs and Electrical Networks" by Seshu and Reed, that book may be great when it comes to electrical networks, but it is just painful when explaining graph theory, just theorem after theorem followed by lengthy abstract proofs of such theorems. So I decided to look for something different to understand the basics of graph theory in a simpler way, and thus I found this book by Prof. Truedeau.This book is very well written, it has many examples and I never felt that the author skipped steps and assumed that the reader would fill in the blanks, everything is very detailed. The author seems to have a genuine interest on making things clear for the reader rather than displaying his vast knowledge on the subject. I must say however that I was disapointed that the book does not cover directed graphs, which are in fact needed for electrical network analysis and other physics related problems, yet most of the basics of graph theory are there. However I did fail to see basic concepts such as a "tree" (hidden under "open hamilton walk"), a "cut-set", the "rank" of a graph or the "nullity" of a graph and such, perhaps they are buried inside some of the end-of-chapter problems but I doubt it, some people may consider the use of such concepts belonging to a more advance graph theory book, although I think they are essential.Many chapters of the book are dedicated to the subject of planarity vs non planarity, and some basic concepts as the ones mentioned in the paragraph above were left out.This book by Prof. Trudeau has zero applied math examples, in fact the author begins the book by stating this is a purely mathematical book, however it serves as a great foundation for anyone wanting to understand graph theory. If you are like me, who is mostly interested in applied graph theroy, this book alone will not be enough, however this book is great to understand the basics of perhaps more difficult books on applied graph theory.So overall this is an amazing book, and the price is so low that makes this book a complete bargain, I highly recommend it.

This is a superb first introduction to graph theory. It's highly accessible and easy to follow; personally, it helped me get interested in a topic I thought I hated but realized after study that I just hadn't had a good introduction to it. If you're looking for a place to start, or a good overview of the field, this is the book to start with; it's definitely prepared me for more advanced reading in the field.It's definitely elementary, so you might want to read more about the topic later (especially if you're interested in computer science applications like graph algorithms, which aren't covered), but if you haven't read much about the topic, are teaching yourself, or haven't taken topology yet, this is a great place to start. (Heck, maybe an overview of the field is all you actually want/need).The only odd thing structurally is that, when this book was initially going to press, the four-color theorem had just been proven. Rather than revise the appropriate section they chose to add an appendix describing the proof. It would've been a little better, in my opinion, to just revise the chapter in question.

If you wanna go HAM on some graphs this problem set is amazing. Ideas build on each other and the small incremental discoveries you make interlock and lead to more exciting discoveries that honesty have me turnt on some graphs.
