This was a Christmas present for my daughter. I have listened to Queen ever since I was in high school and use to watch their videos on MTV. My kids have grown up listening to Queen all of their lives. Once the Bohemian Rhapsody movie came out my daughter wanted to get a piano book of their music. One thing I can tell you is that there is nothing better than coming home from a hard day at work and hearing either Another One Bites the Dust * Bohemian Rhapsody * Crazy Little Thing Called Love * Killer Queen Etc. on the piano being played by my Daughter. It just brings a smile to my face.

Bob Parrott and Don Delaney who recruited Dr. Randolph, are not referenced but the CH part of the book begins after they built the program and the physical structure of what we called the "new" hospital which in 1978 relocated from a 100 plus year old facility on 13th Street in North West DC. That book has yet to be written. Newman's book is more of a message to parents than a biography. He speaks to the development and future of children's health care focusing on principles of what Dr. Delaney termed Child Life, Family Centered Care and case focused research which addresses the holistic CARE of children (Clinical Care, Advocacy, Research and Education). It brought back a flood of positive memories and hope for continuing ongoing efforts to achieve less pain and suffering for children as well as adults in the future. For a pediatrician this is much like following the ongoing positive development of a child. Given the pathetic uninformed messages related to health care coming out of our legislative bodies and administration in DC over the past few months it is a breath of fresh air. The book is an eye-opener for any parent or caregiver who might need to get their child emergency care. I also found it interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes in a pediatric hospital and what they are up against in trying to provide the best care.Definitely a 5 star book!

Healing Children is a beautiful mosaic of personal and patient stories blended with important lessons for care giving and leadership. His stories about the courage and resilience of children, and the inspiration that they can give to us adults, will touch your heart (if they don't, you should not consider a career in healthcare). I ordered this after Bret Baier recommended it on TV. It is one of the most interesting books I have read in years. Dr. Newman writes about his training and growth in the field of pediatric surgery and later, hospital administration, so that the reader feels a part of the process. I had never considered pediatric medicine to be so different from adult medicine and now appreciate the importance of parents seeking out pediatric care and pediatric emergency care for their children. Excellent read, ending with excellent recommendations. The stories are both gut wrenching and heartwarming, but alwsys fascinating. It should encourage communities to cultivate these resources and recruit these terrific specialists for their children. And it encourages us that the future is bright for treatments and cures for pediatric diseases and trauma.

This is all about acrylics, and I think should state that with the title. I use watercolour and pencils of all kinds, and had 1 paragraph on watercolour. Maybe can use a couple of techniques but for the most part a waste of my time and money. Will give to the library.

This book had information in it on techniques to improve my painting with various mediums. It provided me with close-ups on portions of an animal like the head, the eyes and fur, but I wish I would have gotten a pattern for the entire animal instead of portions. I would recommend this book. It is step by step and easy to learn.

LOVE HOW THE BOOK SHOWS YOU INDIVIDUAL PARTS OF AN ANIMAL TO PRACTICE BEFORE GOING HEAD ON INTO A PAINTING. TAILS, FEATHERS, EYES , NOSES AND EARS OF ANIMALS TO PRACTICE FIRST. YOU DON'T FEEL OVERWHELMED TO TRY SMALL STEPS FIRST. SELLER GAVE QUICK SERVICE, BOOK IN SHAPE DESCRIBED WOULD USE AGAIN.

This book is a great How-To and covers a large collection of textures. These instructions are really pretty good. Not as good as perhaps being there in person, but a close second. I did not expect the book to cover multiple media: acrylic, watercolor, oil and pastels.

Very generous with his knowledge of painting animals. In my estimation he gives wvery animal the most expressive eyes, capturing both gentleness & boldness.

This is a VERY INFORMATIVE book to have. The writers have so much info in here to help guide you through the process of moving and living in the Dominican Republic. We'll be visiting there again this year after 13yrs and we hope it's everything they say it is when we get there. If it is, we will probably move there and become permanent residents. I would highly recommend this book to anyone needing guidance on where to look for the help you may need as an expat to be! :)

I loved this book. It is great for anyone thinking of living, or even just visiting the D.R. My wife is Dominincan and we are currently thinking about purchasing a vacation home their since we go back and forth sooooo much. This book gave me the insight as an expat and what I should expect. I feel well equipped now to begin the process. If you're just thinking about visiting, this book will help as well. You'll find this book has a little bit for everyone. I'm not big on reading, but I couldn't put this one down.

Way more than I expected!!! There are breakdowns of the major cities, the international schools there, hospitals, insurance info, general taxes and more. Even common prices for things like gas, food, property tax, water costs. Written in a very honest way and many pros/cons listed that anyone thinking of moving to the DR should know....and know it from someone who's done it! The authors are not trying to sell you on moving there, only helping you make a very informed decision. BRAVO!!!

Having visited RD many times, Ginnie's insights rang true for me. Book includes many helpful listings with addresses and phone numbers, as well as helpful advice regarding getting a driver's license, temporary residency, and dealing with the bureaucracy.

All I can say is I really wish I had met Ginnie!!!Fantastic book, well done to all involved! With my ongoing journey to live permanently in the DR, this has given me tons and tons of information to help along the way for every situation imaginable. There's even a lot of stuff written that my Dominican husband doesn't know about. I have read and tagged each section a number of times as I know I shall carry this book as my bible as I move around this amazing country. Thank you!

Great insights, easy to read, and written to be a very usable resource we'll run to often, I'm sure!

I thought this was really well done, it covers a lot of the typical daily life issues that come up. And it's much better than the other guides I found.
